Zelenskyy Says Starlink Speed Limits Still Hamper Ukraine's Drone Defenses
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that speed restrictions on Starlink service continue to hinder Ukraine's defenses against Russian drones. He says the limits affect frontline operations, where connectivity speed can be critical for detecting and countering aerial attacks. The remarks renew attention on Ukraine's dependence on Elon Musk's satellite network and on any constraints placed on its military use.
Why now: Ongoing reliance on Starlink for Ukraine's battlefield communications keeps any restrictions on the service highly contentious.
