Ramaswamy Campaign Trims Attack Ad Featuring Amy Acton's Mother
Original: Vivek Ramaswamy campaign switches to shorter version of attack ad featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother
Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign has cut a shorter version of its attack ad against Ohio gubernatorial rival Amy Acton, which features her estranged mother. The edit suggests the campaign is recalibrating a spot that drew attention for its use of a family member in a political attack. The race between the biotech entrepreneur and the former state health director is already one of the most contentious contests of the cycle, and the ad change has kept attention on the campaign's tactics.
Why now: The unusual decision to feature a candidate's estranged mother in an attack ad, and then re-edit it, is drawing scrutiny in a competitive Ohio race.
