Freeze warning sends gardeners scrambling to protect tender plants
Original: Freeze warning last night, so we scrambled to get tender potted plants into the greenhouse where they joined the citrus
A gardener in Oregon spent the night moving potted plants into a greenhouse after a freeze warning, joining citrus already sheltered there. The predicted frost never materialised. Gardeners in cold snaps often rush to protect tender plants, sharing the scramble and occasional anticlimax when warnings turn out milder than feared.
Why now: Seasonal frost warnings prompt gardeners to share their plant-protection efforts and compare outcomes.
