Trump calls for Rep. Ilhan Omar's removal over 'fake name'
Original: Trump says Rep. Omar should be removed from Congress over "fake name"
Donald Trump said Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota should be removed from Congress, claiming she uses a "fake name." The remarks add to Trump's repeated attacks on Omar, a frequent target of his criticism, and are drawing attention as US political tensions escalate. No formal mechanism exists for removal based on such claims, and Omar's allies denounce the attacks.
Why now: A former president publicly demanding a sitting congresswoman's removal is a contentious claim in the middle of US political debate.
