UFC 336 Adds Interim Welterweight Title Fight in Toronto

Original: ufc 336

UFC 336 is set to feature two championship bouts in Toronto after Islam Makhachev's withdrawal forced the promotion to add an interim welterweight title fight. Carlos Prates is expected to compete for the interim belt, with Makhachev's coach publicly praising Prates as an 'amazing' fighter ahead of a potential title clash. The card is drawing wide attention as fans debate how the division will be shaped by the interim title and Makhachev's absence.

Why now: A late withdrawal by a star champion and the addition of an interim title fight are major shake-ups for a marquee numbered event.
