ArcaneChat promoted as privacy-focused alternative to WhatsApp

Original: A reminder that bigger is not always better... # ArcaneChat # privacy # encryption # opensource # european # Europe # eu

ArcaneChat, an open-source encrypted chat application with European roots, is being promoted as an alternative to WhatsApp, with the message that bigger platforms are not always better when it comes to privacy. Supporters frame it as part of a broader push for digital independence, decentralisation and data protection in Europe.

Why now: Ongoing European debate over digital autonomy and reliance on large US-owned messaging platforms like WhatsApp
