Enrico Mentana, one of Italy's best-known news anchors, has announced he will step down from presenting TgLa7 on 23 December, ending a 16-year run leading the channel's flagship evening bulletin. He revealed the date himself, saying 'I tell you that on 23 December I will leave Tg La7'. The announcement comes as he was also honoured with the Premio Marchiaro award, alongside journalist Cecilia Sala.
