Tax-the-rich slogan fuels debate over billionaire wealth
Original: Don't go away mad. Just go away. # Zer0Billionaires # USPolitics # poverty # socialsciences # TaxTheRich
A pointed message urging the ultra-wealthy to simply leave rather than resist higher taxes is circulating in US political discussion under the banner 'Zero Billionaires'. The phrase 'Don't go away mad. Just go away.' echoes a common rebuke aimed at billionaires threatening to relocate over wealth taxes, tying into wider debates on poverty and inequality.
Why now: Ongoing US political debate over taxing the wealthy has made anti-billionaire rhetoric a flashpoint.
