Meta employees say Lula's accounts restricted during Brazil election
Original: Meta employees say Lula’s accounts restricted in Brazil election: Report
According to a report, Meta employees said accounts belonging to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva were restricted during the country's election period. The claim has drawn attention to how major platforms handle the accounts of sitting heads of state, and comes as Brazil remains politically sensitive after past disputes over social media's role in elections.
Why now: Allegations that a major platform restricted a sitting president's accounts during an election raise fresh concerns about platform power and political neutrality.
