CNews and France Info used Albania protest footage for Paris rallies

Original: cnews albanie

French channels CNews and France Info broadcast images of demonstrations in Albania while presenting them as footage of the October 24 protests in Paris. Le Parisien highlighted the error with the pointed remark that the images came from a protest that 'was not in Paris'. The mix-up has drawn criticism of the news channels' verification practices.

Why now: Misidentifying footage from Albania as Paris protests has embarrassed major French news channels and raised questions about their fact-checking.
