Thousands march again in Angers amid claims of unprecedented repression
Original: angers
Thousands of people took to the streets of Angers in western France for another day of protest. Organisers quoted by local outlet Angers Vill'actu said the city had 'never known such repression', framing the demonstration as a response to what they see as increasingly harsh policing. The march is the latest in a series of large gatherings in the city, and the scale of turnout is drawing attention well beyond the region.
Why now: A large, repeated street protest and stark accusations of repression are fuelling concern about policing in France.
