Original: ‘If it was up to me it wouldn’t end like this’: Jimmy Anderson confirms Lancashire exit
England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker Jimmy Anderson has confirmed he is leaving Lancashire, saying 'if it was up to me it wouldn't end like this.' The 42-year-old swing bowler, who retired from internationals in 2024 before returning as a county player, indicated the exit was not entirely his choice. The announcement prompts questions about where the veteran seamer will play next.
Why now: A legendary cricketer has announced an unexpected and seemingly involuntary exit from his county club.
