Bangladesh is planning a 70 MW solar power plant at the site of a coal-fired power station, according to PV Magazine. The project would put renewable generation directly alongside existing coal infrastructure, part of a broader push toward solar energy in the country. Energy observers are highlighting the plan as an example of how coal sites can host clean power as Bangladesh expands renewables.
Why now: It signals Bangladesh's shift toward renewables by pairing solar with existing coal infrastructure.
