Italy's gymnastics podium win dedicated to Lorenzo Bonicelli

Original: lorenzo bonicelli

Italian gymnast Carlo Targhetta took world silver on the pommel horse, putting Italy on the podium in the event for the first time in 113 years. He dedicated the medal to Lorenzo Bonicelli with the message 'Forza Bonni', a tribute to his fellow Italian gymnast that has drawn wide attention and sympathy in Italy.

Why now: The touching dedication to Bonicelli, coupled with Italy's historic first podium in over a century, has made the story resonate strongly.
