A resident of Zagreb noticed a series of parked cars without licence plates in the wider city centre, saying an entire block of them had plates removed. The unusual sight, rarely seen on the Croatian capital's streets, drew immediate attention. Locals are asking what is happening, with possible explanations ranging from vehicle re-registration to inspection seizures, though no official cause has been confirmed.
Why now: An unusual street scene in central Zagreb raised questions about why so many cars were missing their plates.
