Amazon criticised over toddler tablet use as a 'digital pacifier'

Original: Amazon's "digital pacifier" for toddlers

A widely shared commentary argues Amazon's toddler tablets function as a 'digital pacifier', with parents using the devices to quiet young children for extended periods. Critics say the products encourage excessive screen time among very young children and normalise handing screen-based soothing to toddlers, renewing debate over Amazon's kids-focused devices and screen-time guidance.

Why now: Ongoing parental anxiety about toddler screen time and criticism of Amazon's children's devices.
