Developer creates Twitch chat-controlled virtual pet fruit fly
Original: I made a virtual pet fruit fly that Twitch chat can interact with
A developer known as imfinn has built a virtual pet fruit fly that viewers can interact with through Twitch chat commands on the stream FlyTwitcher. The project, shared on Hacker News, lets an online audience collectively feed, poke, or otherwise influence the simulated insect's behaviour in real time, blending livestreaming with a tamagotchi-style digital pet.
Why now: It is an unusual, playful creative coding project that entertains people and sparks interest in interactive livestream experiments.
