Dover's Daniel Jackson Wins UN Award for Verdis Nation
Daniel Jackson, a campaigner from Dover who founded the micro nation project Verdis, has received an award from the United Nations, according to a local report. Verdis is an unrecognised statehood project declared on an unclaimed parcel of land along the Danube between Croatia and Serbia, and Jackson has led its efforts to gain international recognition.
Why now: The UN's involvement with a micro nation campaigner is unusual, drawing attention from local and international readers.
