Russia awarded 2030 World Weightlifting Championships
Original: Міжнародна федерація важкої атлетики віддала росії право провести Чемпіонат світу У 2030 році. Точних дат і місця ще не
The International Weightlifting Federation has awarded Russia the right to host the 2030 World Weightlifting Championships. Exact dates and the host city have not yet been announced. It would be the first world championship in an Olympic sport held in Russia since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, drawing criticism given Russia's ongoing isolation from international sport.
Why now: Awarding a world championship to Russia while it remains excluded from much of international sport over the war in Ukraine is controversial.
