Sharp-shinned hawk returns to garden, sparking pest control hopes
Original: The sharp shinned hawk has been hanging out again on my property. Maybe it will eat the voles in the garden and not just
A homeowner reports a sharp-shinned hawk spending time on their property again, photographing the bird through binoculars. They hope it will prey on the voles damaging their garden rather than only taking finches, as sharp-shinned hawks are known bird hunters. The observation has drawn small interest from bird and wildlife watchers.
Why now: Wildlife enthusiasts enjoy posts about raptor sightings and the natural tension between garden pest control and songbird predation.
