Fresh scrutiny of alleged British intelligence collusion in Northern Ireland's Dirty War
Original: About collusion between British military intelligence and terrorists (again) Torture, terror and extrajudicial execution
Claims are resurfacing that British military intelligence colluded with loyalist paramilitaries during Northern Ireland's Dirty War, involving torture, terror and extrajudicial executions. A Herald Scotland feature revisits the allegations and the ongoing search for truth about the conflict-era abuses. Commenters argue the pattern is not new, pointing to a long history of accusations that state agents armed, informed or directed paramilitary killers while victims' families were denied accountability.
Why now: A newly published Herald Scotland article has reignited debate over state collusion allegations from the Northern Ireland conflict.
