Creek that once flowed year-round now dries up each summer

A resident describes how a neighbourhood creek has begun drying up during recent summers, according to a long-time neighbour who says it never did before in his lifetime. Walking the dried creek bed, the resident found parts of the forest normally unreachable. The account pairs grief over the loss of flowing water with curiosity about the newly exposed landscape.
Why now: Personal accounts of local waterways drying up resonate as visible signs of drought and climate change
Evidence
- A neighbor tells me that he's lived here since he was a child, and in all that time the creek only started going dry a few summers ago 😢 It was cool, though, to walk up the creek a ways to see parts of the forest the water had kept from me. @photography@fedigroups.social… · mosspiglet@social.mossmelomind.com · 2
