Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has conceded election defeat to a student-led protest movement, according to the BBC. The movement grew out of months of student protests that challenged his grip on power. The reported concession would mark a major political shift in Serbia, ending years of dominance by Vučić and his party.

Why now: A long-dominant leader conceding defeat to a student protest movement is a major and unexpected political development.
