An online fundraising appeal is circulating, calling for urgent help for 75 families described as facing extreme emergencies under a medical blockade and the threat of famine. Donors are asked to give a monthly pledge of as little as one dollar through a crowdfunding page, which organisers say has already secured 29 of the 32 pledges they are seeking.

Why now: The Middle East humanitarian crisis is driving urgent mutual-aid fundraising appeals across social media.
