US has repeatedly pressed Musk to alter Starlink in war zones
Original: US has for years asked Musk to alter Starlink service in Ukraine, Middle East
Reuters reports, citing sources, that US officials have for years asked Elon Musk to change how Starlink satellite internet operates in Ukraine and the Middle East, raising questions about a private citizen's influence over communications infrastructure used in active conflicts. The report reignites debate over the lack of formal oversight when a single company controls battlefield connectivity relied on by governments and militaries.
Why now: Renewed scrutiny of Musk's private control over critical military communications infrastructure in ongoing conflicts.
