Original: Mosquitoes are a choice https://worksinprogress.co/issue/mosquitoes-are-a-choice/ # Science # Technology # Environment
An essay published in Works in Progress argues that mosquito-borne disease is a solvable problem rather than an unavoidable fact of nature, and that humanity is effectively choosing to tolerate mosquitoes. The piece has been shared in science and technology circles, drawing attention to the case that modern tools make eradicating mosquito-borne diseases a realistic policy option.
Why now: A new essay arguing mosquitoes could be eliminated is being circulated and debated in science and technology communities.
