Musk says he restricted Starlink speeds in Ukraine

Original: Musk says he was behind Starlink speed restriction in Ukraine

Elon Musk says he personally ordered a restriction of Starlink internet speeds in Ukraine, with the satellite service later restored. The admission draws renewed attention to the influence a private company has over wartime communications, a debate that has followed Starlink's role in Ukraine since Russia's invasion and Musk's earlier limits on its use for military operations.

Why now: A private citizen's control over critical military communications in an active war is a highly controversial and consequential admission.
