NVIDIA releases SkillSpector security scanner for AI agent skills
Original: NVIDIA/SkillSpector
NVIDIA has published SkillSpector, an open-source Python tool that scans AI agent skills for security problems before installation. It detects vulnerabilities, malicious patterns, prompt injection, data exfiltration and supply-chain risks in skills built for Claude Code, Codex and MCP. Developers are picking it up as concern grows over unsafe third-party agent extensions.
Why now: Rapid adoption of AI agent skills has raised fears of malicious or vulnerable extensions, and a major vendor releasing a dedicated scanner draws developer attention.
