Voronezh, in western Russia, was hit by a major Ukrainian drone attack on Monday morning. Reports indicate strikes on the Voronezh Aircraft Plant, a key military aviation manufacturer, and the Voronezhsintezkauchuk petrochemical plant, which produces synthetic rubber and polymers used in tires, seals, hoses and components linked to solid rocket fuel. The strikes follow Ukraine's ongoing campaign against Russian defense-industrial facilities deep behind the front line.

Why now: Ukraine's drone campaign against Russian military-industrial targets continues to escalate, and strikes on a major aircraft plant are highly significant.
