German intelligence agencies to use Google cloud system
Original: Hallo # Deutschland . Hallo # EU . # krass Deutsche # Nachrichtendienste setzen auf # Cloud -System von # Google | @tage
German news outlet Tagesschau reports that German intelligence services plan to rely on a cloud system provided by Google. The report is drawing criticism on German-speaking social media, with users calling it outrageous and addressing the German government and the European Union directly. Critics question why sensitive intelligence data would be handled on infrastructure of a US company.
Why now: A new report that German intelligence will depend on US-based Google cloud infrastructure has sparked concern about data sovereignty and security.
