UN climate science body IPCC left in limbo without budget

Original: # UN # climate science body left in limbo without budget sign-off after deadlock | Stranglehold on funding for the ##IPC

The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been left without budget sign-off after member states deadlocked over its funding. Reporting links the hold-up to pressure from fossil-fuel-reliant nations seeking to delay publication of key global warming reports. The funding freeze leaves the panel's future assessments of climate science in limbo.

Why now: Countries dependent on fossil fuels are reportedly blocking IPCC funding to delay upcoming climate reports.
