BAE Systems unveils anti-drone electromagnetic weapon
Original: BAE sort le barbecue électronique anti-drones ! # BAESystems # Drones # ArmeElectromagnetique # GuerreElectronique # Def
British defence company BAE Systems has introduced a new anti-drone system that French-language commentators are jokingly calling an 'electronic barbecue'. The electromagnetic weapon is designed to disable hostile drones, including drone swarms, by disrupting their electronics. Defence and technology observers are sharing the announcement, framing it as part of the growing push for electronic warfare capabilities against cheap, mass-produced drones.
Why now: Interest in new counter-drone technology is high as armed forces worldwide seek effective responses to drone swarms on modern battlefields.
