Alaska Senate Candidates Talk Fish, Avoid Climate Change
Original: Alaska Senate Candidates Rarely Mention Climate Change, But They Talk a Lot About Fish https:// fed.brid.gy/r/https://ww
A Mother Jones report on Alaska's Senate race finds candidates Mary Peltola and Dan Sullivan rarely mention climate change on the campaign trail, even as it reshapes the state. Instead, both talk extensively about fish, framing concerns over salmon collapses and fishing livelihoods in economic and cultural terms rather than climate terms.
Why now: Voters are watching how candidates in a climate-sensitive state sidestep explicit climate talk while still addressing its effects.
