Campaign urges public to defend libraries and reading freedom

EveryLibrary, an advocacy organisation for libraries, is calling on people to defend libraries, books, and the freedom to read, urging supporters to amplify its message. The appeal comes amid ongoing efforts in the United States and elsewhere to challenge or remove books from library shelves, putting librarians and readers at the centre of a wider debate over access to literature.

Why now: Renewed public concern over book bans and challenges to library collections is driving support for library advocacy.
