Election advocates in New Mexico are reminding voters that elections are run locally, not by the federal government, by neighbors, county clerks and poll workers. Voters who see something concerning at or near a voting center are being told to raise it with the presiding judge at their polling place or call the Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE.
Why now: Concerns about election integrity and voter confidence are prominent around an election period, prompting officials to explain how local election administration works.
