Protest Song Lyrics Condemn 'No Kings' America
Original: “No Kings” Morality over mercy Punishment over health Punish the poor Prop up wealth America's best export Is just lies
A protest verse circulating online under the 'No Kings' banner accuses the United States of exporting lies, punishing the poor while propping up wealth, and calls Americans 'bootlickers' who 'bend a knee.' The piece contrasts morality over mercy and punishment over health, ending with compassion framed as a counterweight to hate. It reflects the anti-authoritarian, anti-inequality anger driving the broader No Kings protest movement.
Why now: The No Kings protest movement is drawing widespread attention and creative expression right now.
