Original: Japan Minister Urges Households to Stock Disaster Supplies Before New Agency Launch
A Japanese government minister is calling on households across the country to stock up on emergency supplies such as water, food and medicine ahead of the planned launch of a new disaster management agency. The appeal ties personal preparedness to the government's broader overhaul of Japan's disaster response framework, and is prompting discussion about how ready ordinary families are for earthquakes and other emergencies.
