Horror film The Blackcoat's Daughter criticized as too confusing

Original: The movie The Blackcoat's Daughter, in my opinion, relies too much on confusing the audience to build suspense. It steps

A film fan argues that The Blackcoat's Daughter, Oz Perkins's slow-burn horror movie starring Kiernan Shipka, leans too heavily on confusing viewers rather than building genuine suspense, crossing from mystery into incomprehension. The same critic still praises the film's acting and cinematography, making it a mixed rather than outright negative verdict on the movie.

Why now: A critic's mixed take on a cult horror film has sparked disagreement among horror fans

Evidence

• The movie The Blackcoat's Daughter, in my opinion, relies too much on confusing the audience to build suspense. It steps over the line from “mystery” to “I have no idea what the hell is going on.” The acting & cinematography are good, though. # movies # horror https://… · superflippy@mastodon.xyz · 1
