Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC

Donald Trump is suing the BBC for $US10 billion (about $14.2 billion) in defamation over a program about the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack. Commentators are debating whether the case will proceed or fizzle out, with some dubbing it potentially the biggest 'TACO' — Trump Always Chickens Out — of all, referencing his pattern of filing suits and threats that are later dropped or settled quietly.
Why now: The sheer size of the claim against a major public broadcaster, and speculation about whether Trump will follow through, is drawing wide attention.
