Switzerland confirms Ebola patient and husband evacuated from Nigeria
Original: Ebola in Nigeria: Switzerland confam arrival of evacuated patient and her husband from Nigeria
Switzerland has confirmed the arrival of an Ebola patient evacuated from Nigeria, together with her husband, who will also be monitored. The transfer is part of international efforts to manage suspected Ebola cases by moving patients to well-equipped treatment facilities in Europe. Health authorities are expected to place the pair under quarantine and carry out testing while tracing anyone who may have had contact with them during travel.
Why now: Any confirmed Ebola movement to Europe raises public concern about possible spread of the virus.
