Iyer marvels as Sharma and Sooryavanshi blaze hundred in five overs
Original: ‘How did they manage it?’: Shreyas Iyer marvels at Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 100 in 5 overs start as he fails badly
Shreyas Iyer voiced disbelief at the explosive opening stand by Abhishek Sharma and 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who raced to a century partnership inside five overs, while Iyer himself failed badly with the bat. His reaction, asking how they managed it, captured the cricket world's amazement at the record-pace start.
Why now: The extraordinary speed of the young openers' century stand and Iyer's own poor outing made the moment a talking point among cricket fans.
