User defends mocking religious belief as 'science'
Original: When I make fun of someone for worshiping some guy they think walked on water & turned it into wine And compare a person
A social media user is drawing attention after complaining that mocking religious belief ā comparing faith in Jesus walking on water to a child's belief in Santa Claus ā gets them labelled a religious bigot. They reject the label, calling themselves a 'scientist' instead. The remark touches on the ongoing debate between skeptics and believers over how religion and mythology should be treated, and whether open ridicule of faith counts as bigotry or free inquiry.
Why now: The post sparks debate because ridiculing religion and claiming scientific backing is a recurring flashpoint online.
