Shipbuilder Damen to cut 225 jobs

Original: scheepsbouwer

Dutch shipbuilder Damen is cutting 225 jobs across the company, Omroep Zeeland reports. It remains unclear whether any layoffs will fall at the Vlissingen yard, leaving employees and the region waiting for clarity. Damen is one of the largest employers in Zeeland, so the announcement is drawing close attention locally.

Why now: Uncertainty over whether the Zeeland shipyard in Vlissingen will be hit by the job cuts is causing concern in the region.
