Civil Guard chief says Spain border 'totally collapsed'

Spain's Civil Guard chief is reported to have declared that the country's border has 'totally collapsed', claiming thousands of African men crossed the border within hours. Reports attribute the surge to Spain's recent amnesty for undocumented migrants. Critics argue the amnesty has acted as a pull factor, while the scale of the situation has turned it into a breaking story spreading rapidly on social media.

Why now: Claims that a mass border surge followed Spain's amnesty decision are alarming and politically charged, driving intense discussion.
