Moxnox 1.0 Launches NT-Like OS Built on Btrfs
Original: Moxnox 1.0: NT-Like, POSIX-Compatible OS Running Atop Btrfs
Version 1.0 of Moxnox, an operating system modeled on Windows NT's architecture but offering POSIX compatibility, has been released, with its source code available on GitHub. The project runs directly atop the Btrfs filesystem rather than a traditional disk layout. Developers following the release are discussing the unusual design choice, which combines NT-style internals with Linux filesystem technology in a single system.
Why now: A hobby operating system reaching its 1.0 milestone with an unconventional Btrfs-based design is drawing interest from systems programmers.
