Original: anthony gordon

Anthony Gordon has spoken out after joining Barcelona, saying he 'wasn't fully respected in England' and that the move was necessary for his career. In a Guardian interview following what it calls his Barcelona rebirth, the England winger said there is 'a lot more to my game' as he rises to a new level under Hansi Flick's intense, high-pressing system.

Why now: Gordon's criticism of his Premier League reputation and his strong start at Barcelona have made his transfer and form a talking point among UK football fans.
