Gonokuni lets players build a town around chess
Original: 碁の国: Play Chess as Town Building
Gonokuni (碁の国), a web game that combines chess with town-building mechanics, is drawing attention online. Players appear to construct and develop a town setting while playing chess matches within it, blending a classic board game with city-building elements. Early reaction is curiosity about how the two genres fit together.
Why now: The unusual mash-up of chess and town-building games is novel enough to spark interest.
