Eve Ensler warns of rising 'psychopatriarchy' in global politics
Original: We are seeing the rise of psychopatriarchy everywhere | V (Formerly Eve Ensler) https://www. theguardian.com/commentisfr
Writer and activist V, formerly known as Eve Ensler, argues in a Guardian opinion piece that 'psychopatriarchy' – a fusion of patriarchal power and cruelty – is on the rise across politics worldwide. Writing in the context of US politics under Donald Trump, she links the trend to immigration enforcement, attacks on abortion and reproductive rights, and broader authoritarian behaviour, urging readers to name and resist the phenomenon.
Why now: The piece ties current US fights over immigration and reproductive rights to a broader pattern of authoritarian, misogynistic politics that readers are actively debating.
