Ukrainian F-16 Downs Russian Geran-4 Drone in New Video
Original: Ukrainian F-16 Downs Russian Geran-4 Drone in Fresh Combat Video
Footage circulating shows a Ukrainian F-16 shooting down a Russian Geran-4 attack drone, a newer variant of the Shahed-type loitering munitions Russia uses in mass strikes on Ukraine. The clip offers a rare look at Ukraine's F-16 fleet in an air-defense role as Kyiv struggles to intercept swarms of drones nightly. Commentators are weighing the jet's effectiveness against cheap drones and the cost of using fighter missiles on them.
Why now: Interest in how Ukraine's newly delivered F-16s perform against Russia's increasingly used Geran-4 drones.
