Polar vortex could bring Britain a repeat of the Beast from the East
Original: polar vortex forecast
Forecasters are warning that a weakening of the polar vortex could send freezing air towards Britain this winter, raising the prospect of a repeat of the 2018 'Beast from the East', which brought heavy snow and disrupted travel across the UK. London and much of the country could face an prolonged cold snap if the pattern develops as models suggest.
Why now: Concern about a severe winter freeze is mounting as forecasters flag a possible polar vortex disruption.
